We all love some nifty hacks that will make our lives easier. Especially when it comes to our clothes, we see so many people DIYing everything and making it wearable. You would be lying if you said that you never tried those hacks on Youtube.

It is okay, we are only humans, and at times we do fall prey for 5 minutes craft. On a serious note, we have created a list of the best bra hacks that will change your life. Get ready to be blown away!

Hack #1: Use Paper Clips

Use Paper Clips

It is not always necessary for you to spend so many dollars on a simple racerback bra. Put on your crafty goggles and grab some paper clips or safety pins. Once you wear your bra, just grab a paper clip and bring both the shoulder straps on your bra and pin them together or use the clip and secure them in the center of your back.

This will mimic the look a racerback bra would create. If you do not want to trust these products, you can even buy specialized pins that are used to convert your everyday bra into a racerback.

With just simple household items, you saved yourself a lot of money! This is also just a quick fix for an outfit that would need a racerback bra!

Hack #2: Plastic bra washer

This one is less of a hack and more of a bra washing tip. Ladies, only we know how much we spend on that cute lacey lingerie, and it is gut-wrenching to see the lace just rip in the washing machine. Well, to solve your issue, here comes the ball that saves your bra.

This is just a simple plastic ball that has checked opening through it. You place your bra inside of this plastic ball and throw it in your washing machine with the rest of your clothes without having to worry about your bra getting damaged.

Hack #3: Make Your Own Backless Bra

This can be a little technical, as you will need to know basic sewing to put this hack to action. If you have an old bra that you are just going to throw away, but the cups of the bra are still in good condition, all you need to do is:

  1. Cut the shoulder straps.
  2. Sew the cups to a strapless dress.

That is it! You have gotten a strapless bra for your strapless dress!

Hack #4: Alternatives For Hack Three

For those who can not sew or do not know how to sew, this is your alternative.

You can take a safety pin and secure the bra on your dress in a way that you can not see the pin from the outside. This will also make sure that your bra will stay in place without you having to worry about it moving around. Another option is to use the bra without its shoulder straps.

If the padding of the bra is still in good condition and if you like it better than the one that came with your dress, then just remove the padding from your dress and replace it with the padding from your old bra. If the padding on your dress is not removable, then if you are brave enough, you can cut the lining of the padded area along the seams and remove the pad.

Hack #5: Skin Safety And Comfort

The most important factor out of all is to make sure you feel comfortable without any restrictions. Often, the underwire of the bra will start to poke out and hurt you. If your bra is fairly new, then it is also very sad to have to throw them out.

Do not worry; we understand your pain, and a solution for this is just one product! Get yourselves some Dr. Scholl’s Moleskin Plus Padding! When the underwire is peeking out, using something strong ( or you can just use your hands) and push the wire back to its original position.

Once you do that, take a patch of Dr. Scholl’s Moleskin Plus Padding according to how much you need to cover the tear through which the wire is peeking out and the surrounding area to make sure it is secure. Stick this patch on top of the tear, and that is all you need to do to fix your bra!

Hack #6: Use bra extenders

One of my favorite bra hacks that I have recently discovered is using bra extenders. Bra extenders are a game-changer when it comes to comfort and fit. They are small pieces of fabric that have hooks and eyes on each end, which attach to your bra’s existing hooks and eyes.

Here are some reasons why you should try using bra extenders:

  1. Get the perfect fit: Sometimes, bras can feel too tight or too loose, but with a bra extender, you can adjust the band size to get the perfect fit.
  2. Save money: Have you ever purchased a bra that you loved, but then gained or lost weight, and it no longer fits? Using a bra extender can give your bra new life, and save you money on having to buy a new one.
  3. Extend the life of your bra: Over time, bras can stretch out and lose their shape. By using a bra extender, you can help your bra keep its shape and last longer.

Now that you know why you should use a bra extender, here are some tips on how to use them:

  1. Choose the right extender: Make sure to choose an extender with the same number of hooks as your bra.
  2. Position the extender: Attach the extender to your bra’s existing hooks and eyes, and position it in the middle of your back.
  3. Adjust as needed: Try on your bra with the extender attached, and adjust the fit as needed by moving the extender up or down on the back of your bra.

Using bra extenders has truly changed the game for me when it comes to bra comfort and fit.

Hack #7: Use bra strap cushions

I personally swear by bra strap cushions. As someone with narrow shoulders, I always struggled with my bra straps slipping down, but since I started using it, I haven’t had any issues.

According to Dr. Debra Jaliman, a board-certified dermatologist and author of “Skin Rules: Trade Secrets from a Top New York Dermatologist,” bra strap cushions can also help prevent skin irritation and chafing caused by bra straps rubbing against the skin.

These handy little accessories can be a real lifesaver when it comes to relieving shoulder pain and discomfort caused by bra straps. Bra strap cushions are small pads that you can slide onto your bra straps to provide extra padding and support. They can be made of foam, silicone, or even gel and come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit different bra strap styles.

Not only does it provide extra comfort, but they also help keep your bra straps in place. If you have sloping shoulders, it can help prevent your straps from slipping down throughout the day. Plus, they’re easy to use and can be attached to any bra with straps.

When choosing bra strap cushions, make sure to select a size that fits snugly on your bra straps to prevent them from sliding around. Additionally, consider trying out different materials to find the one that works best for you. Some people find silicone to be too slippery, while others prefer it to foam. And don’t forget to wash your bra strap cushions regularly to keep them clean and hygienic.

Hack #8: Use silicone bra inserts

If you’re looking for a way to enhance your bustline and add some extra oomph to your cleavage, then you need to try silicone bra inserts. These nifty little accessories can give you a natural-looking boost and make you feel confident and sexy in any outfit.

Silicone bra inserts are a type of padding that you can place inside your bra cups to add volume and shape. They’re made of a soft, flexible silicone material that molds to your body for a natural look and feel. Silicone bra inserts come in a range of shapes and sizes, so you can choose the one that best fits your body and your bra.

According to bra-fitting expert and founder of The Bra Guru, Elizabeth Clarke, silicone bra inserts are a great option for women who want to add volume and shape to their breasts without resorting to surgery or padded bras. “Silicone bra inserts are a great way to achieve a natural-looking boost without the bulk of padded bras,” she says.

When using silicone bra inserts, make sure to position them correctly in your bra cups. You want them to sit comfortably against your skin without poking out or looking unnatural. Additionally, avoid using silicone bra inserts that are too large or too small for your body, as this can lead to discomfort and an unnatural appearance. And don’t forget to wash your silicone bra inserts regularly to keep them clean and hygienic.

Hack #9: Use bra tape

I discovered bra tape when I was getting ready for a wedding and realized that my strapless bra was slipping down. I didn’t want to be constantly pulling it up all night, so I tried using bra tape to hold it in place. It worked like a charm, and I felt so much more confident and comfortable throughout the evening.

Bra tape, also known as fashion tape or double-sided tape, is a special adhesive tape that’s designed to keep clothing in place. It’s perfect for securing your bra straps, preventing your bra from peeking out of your neckline, or keeping your dress or top from shifting around. It is available in a variety of sizes and strengths, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

When using bra tape, make sure to apply it to clean, dry skin for maximum hold. You can use it to secure your bra straps, keep your bra cups in place, or prevent your clothing from shifting around. And if you’re worried about skin irritation or sensitivity, look for bra tape that’s designed specifically for sensitive skin.

Hack #10: Wear a bra liner

According to bra fitting expert, Kimmay Caldwell, a bra liner can be a game-changer for women who experience skin irritation or discomfort from their bras. “A bra liner can help prevent sweat and oils from building up on your skin, which can lead to irritation and even infection,” she says. “It’s a simple and affordable solution that can make a big difference in your comfort and confidence.”

A bra liner is a thin, breathable piece of fabric that’s designed to fit between your bra and your skin. It can help prevent irritation, chafing, and sweating, and can even prolong the life of your bra by absorbing moisture and oils from your skin. Bra liners are available in a variety of materials, including cotton, bamboo, and moisture-wicking fabrics, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

When using a bra liner, make sure to choose one that fits snugly between your bra and your skin without bunching or slipping. You can also try using a silicone bra liner for added grip and support. And if you’re wearing a tight-fitting or sheer top, look for a bra liner that’s designed to be invisible under clothing.

Hack #11: Use a bra strap clip

What is a bra strap clip, you may ask? It’s a small plastic or metal clip that attaches to the straps of your bra, bringing them together in the back. This creates a racerback-style bra that is perfect for wearing with tank tops, racerback shirts, or any outfit that requires your bra straps to stay hidden.

Here are some reasons why a bra strap clip can be a game-changer:

  1. No more slipping straps: How many times have you found yourself pulling up your bra straps throughout the day? With a bra strap clip, your straps stay in place, preventing any awkward slipping or readjusting.
  2. Extra support: Bringing your straps together in the back can provide extra support, especially for those with larger busts. This can alleviate any discomfort or strain on your shoulders.
  3. Versatility: A bra strap clip can instantly transform your regular bra into a racerback bra, giving you more outfit options and versatility in your wardrobe.

Now, I know what you may be thinking – won’t the clip be uncomfortable or noticeable? Well, the good news is that bra strap clips are designed to be discreet and comfortable. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors to match your bra and skin tone. Plus, you can adjust the tightness to your liking for the perfect fit.

If you have a racerback top or dress and don’t want your bra straps to show, a bra strap clip can help bring your bra straps together in the back.

Hack #12: Use a bra drying rack

Investing in a bra drying rack is a small but mighty step towards taking better care of your undergarments. Not only will it help to extend the life of your bras, but it’s also a sustainable choice that reduces your carbon footprint.

I remember the days when I used to throw my bras into the dryer and hope for the best. More often than not, I ended up with misshapen cups and broken underwires. But ever since I started using a bra drying rack, my bras have been lasting longer and staying in better shape. Plus, it gives me peace of mind knowing that I’m not damaging my clothes or the environment.

Using a bra drying rack is simple and easy. Once you’ve finished washing your bras, gently squeeze out any excess water and lay them flat on the rack. Make sure to adjust the cups to their natural shape and clip them securely onto the rack. Avoid hanging bras by the straps as this can stretch them out over time.

To get the most out of your bra drying rack, here are a few expert tips to keep in mind:

  • Choose a rack with a sturdy base and adjustable clips that can accommodate different sizes and styles of bras.
  • Avoid exposing your bras to direct sunlight or high heat, which can cause fading and shrinkage.
  • Be patient and allow your bras to air dry completely before wearing or storing them. This will help to prevent any mold or mildew from forming.

Hack #13: Wear a bra with a front closure

According to a study conducted by the University of Portsmouth, wearing a front-closure bra can reduce pressure on the shoulders and back, making it a great option for those who suffer from back pain.

Not only do front-closure bras provide a secure fit, but they also offer a convenient way to put on and take off your bra without having to twist and turn your arms behind your back. Plus, they’re versatile enough to wear with almost any outfit – from low-cut tops to high-necked dresses.

Here are some tips on how to wear a front-closure bra:

  1. Choose the right size: Just like with any other bra, it’s important to find the right size for a comfortable and supportive fit. Make sure to measure yourself or get fitted by a professional before purchasing a front-closure bra.
  2. Check the closure: Front-closure bras come in different types of closures such as clasps, hooks, or zippers. Make sure to check the closure before purchasing to ensure that it is easy to use and secure.
  3. Adjust the straps: Once you have put on the bra, adjust the straps to ensure a comfortable fit. The straps should not dig into your shoulders or slide off.
  4. Style it right: Front-closure bras can be styled in many ways. You can wear them with a low-cut top to show off the closure, or wear them with a high-necked dress for a sleek and seamless look.

Hack #14: Convert a regular bra into a strapless bra

Are you tired of dealing with pesky bra straps that peek through your tops or limit your wardrobe choices? Well, I’ve got some game-changing bra hacks that will change your life! Today, I’ll be sharing how to convert a regular bra into a strapless bra, so you can rock those off-shoulder or backless outfits with confidence.

Firstly, let’s talk about why you should convert your regular bra into a strapless one. Strapless bras are a must-have in any woman’s wardrobe, but buying a new one can be pricey. Moreover, finding the perfect fit for your bust size can be challenging. So, why not make use of the bras you already have? By converting a regular bra into a strapless one, you can save money and customize the fit according to your bust size.

So, how can you transform your regular bra into a strapless one? Here are the steps:

Step 1: Start by unhooking the straps from the back of your bra.

Step 2: Take the bra cups and pull them towards the center of your chest.

Step 3: Fasten the hooks at the back of the bra cups together.

Step 4: Take the bra straps and wrap them around your torso, tucking them under the bra cups.

Step 5: Adjust the bra cups as needed and secure them in place with some fashion tape.

Voila! You now have a strapless bra that you can wear confidently under any outfit. Of course, this hack works best for bras that have a bit of stretch and support, so keep that in mind before trying it out.

Now that you know how to convert your regular bra into a strapless one, here are some tips to ensure it stays in place all day long:

  • Use a bit of fashion tape to secure the bra cups in place and prevent them from slipping down.
  • Opt for a longline bra or a bra with a wider band for added support.
  • If you have a larger bust, consider wearing a strapless bra with a built-in underwire for extra support.
  • Avoid wearing lotions or oils on your skin as they can cause the bra cups to slip.

By following these tips, you can enjoy the benefits of a strapless bra without any worries.

Hack #15: Wear a camisole with a built-in bra

First things first, let’s talk about what a camisole with a built-in bra actually is. Essentially, it’s a two-in-one garment that combines the coverage of a camisole with the support of a bra. These camisoles are typically made from a stretchy material like spandex and feature a built-in shelf bra that provides gentle support and shaping for your bust.

If you’re someone who prefers not to wear a traditional bra, a camisole with a built-in bra can be a game-changer. Not only do they provide support without the need for additional undergarments, but they’re also incredibly comfortable. Plus, they’re perfect for layering under tops or wearing as a standalone piece on hot summer days.

When choosing a camisole with a built-in bra, there are a few things to keep in mind. First and foremost, make sure you choose the right size. A camisole that is too small will be uncomfortable, while one that is too large won’t provide the necessary support. Additionally, pay attention to the style of the camisole. Some feature adjustable straps, while others are racerback. Choose the style that works best for your body and wardrobe.

Styling a camisole with a built-in bra is incredibly easy. You can wear it as a standalone piece with high-waisted jeans or shorts for a casual look, or layer it under a blazer or cardigan for a more polished outfit. The best part? You don’t have to worry about visible bra straps ruining your look!

Hack #15: Consider a bra fitting

Now, for the final and most important hack of them all – getting a professional bra fitting. This is an essential step that many women overlook, but it can make a world of difference in how your bra looks and feels.

Let’s face it – we’ve all been guilty of eyeballing our bra size or relying on the same size we’ve worn for years. However, your body can change over time, especially due to weight fluctuations, pregnancy, and aging. Wearing the wrong size can lead to discomfort, back pain, and even breathing difficulties.

That’s where a professional bra fitting comes in. A bra fitting expert will measure your bust and help you find the perfect bra size for your body. They will take into account factors like your breast shape, shoulder slope, and overall posture to ensure that your bra fits like a glove.

Now, I know some of you may feel a bit nervous or shy about getting a bra fitting. But let me assure you, there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Bra fitting experts are professionals who have seen it all, and they are there to help you feel comfortable and confident.

If you’re not sure where to start, many lingerie stores offer complimentary bra fittings. You can also search online for lingerie boutiques in your area that specialize in bra fittings. And if you prefer, you can even schedule a virtual fitting from the comfort of your own home.
